2006
Science World was originally constructed for Vancouver’s World Expo ’86. In 2011, the structure underwent major renovations. As a part of this renovation, the facility was being seismically upgraded. The building is built on steel piles over False Creek. The upgrade involved drilling injection grout columns into the seabed. Over 200 holes were cored into the existing deck without damaging any structure or the utilities under the deck.
