G.C. Friesen moves to Whitehorse to co-manage the office with F.B. Underhill. UGSL establishes a new office in Vernon, BC, and two new directors join the company, D.L. Simpson and R.C. Power. At its peak, 50 staff are involved in the Hydro mapping. The entire electrical distribution network for Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland of BC, comprising 1.5 million facilities (poles, conductors, transformers, switches, etc.) and 5,500 map sheets, is digitally mapped in two years.
